HDFS 450 practicum in hdfs

3 to 12 hours (field placement, lecture-discussion)

Spring Semesters

Course Objectives

HDFS 450 is a supervised learning experience in which students apply knowledge and skills developed in human development and family studies courses to assist adults, children, and families who are engaged with social service agencies and other community institutions. Upon completion of this course students will:

  • be able to apply critical thinking and problem solving abilities to real world                         situations;
  • demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills
  • exhibit enhanced oral and written communication skills
  • function at a professional level in a community service organization
